Feature #68 Gary Bickerton “engrossed by his new tool”

At the age of four Gary was taken to Weymouth for a day trip where his parents bought him a plastic bodied camera and loaded it with film. He was so engrossed by his new tool that Gary became separated from his parents, he was reported missing and later found by the police photographing other holiday makers going about their day !

Gary Bickerton has tried most types of photography, landscape portraiture etc, but nothing gives him the “buzz” that street photography does. Gary looks for emotion in his shots “sadness” “humor” and the way that people interact with their environment.

Gary is currently working on a project photographing incidental colour around his home city of Newport South Wales.
