Feature #131 Richard Pilon ‘people in the moment.’

Richard’s interest in photography began at age 17 during a school trip to New York City in 1978. Photography became a real passion for him in 2009 when he acquired his first DSLR camera. Richard experimented with various styles, but after giving street photography a try in July 2011, he was hooked.

Richard has always enjoyed people watching and street photography gives him the opportunity to capture people in the moment. There is a certain level of excitement that comes from not knowing what situation will present itself and what will end up being captured on camera. Richard enjoys candid shots mainly, but recently started participating in a 100 Strangers Project which adds a whole new dimension to his street photography.

Richard lives in Eastern Ontario, Canada
