Stuart Compton never had any interest in photography until he was about 45. So Stuart came to photography fairly late in life and just about the time he picked up
a camera he also discovered one of those photography chaps. He went by
the name the name of Robert Doisneau, whom you may have heard of.
After buying a Doisneau book ‘Paris’ by Brigitte Ollier with some 600+
images Stuart new this was where his photographic interests lay.
Up until recently when became more of an occasional rather than the hardcore
type of street photographer. Having his interest rekindled by
browsing some of the great street photography web sites. Stuart
then set about updating his web site! Stuart is now committed to getting out on a regular basis onto the streets with his camera.
Getting out into the hustle and bustle of the city, which for him is in Leeds
or York, and just taking a wander and snapping anything or anyone that
catches his eye, this spontaneity is what street photography is about
for Stuart. You just never know what you will happen upon and there it lies
the magic .
